What I Like Best About Our R-Zine!

My favorite thing about our R-Zine would definitely have to be the way that we tied our leading theme "Connections" into all aspects of the project. Every topic that we talked about, researched, and completed projects on had some way of connecting with the other students research. A lot of the connections you would be surprised to know exist. The group project that we did where we combined two topics together to make a complete project really showed this. I also really enjoyed seeing everything that the other students in my class have to offer. Since I'm a senior, I don't get to mix with underclassmen anymore. This gave me the experience to see what they are doing in their majors and learn a little more about computer programs in the process.
I think in the end, the final product turned out great. It was definitely a collaborative effort that wasn't easy with so many students!

Improving my creativity...

My personal goal to improve my creativity is to always keep dreaming and imagining. If you don't take the time to dare to dream you'll never uncover what your mind has to offer. Creativity and inspiration can come from the smallest of things. Have you ever looked up at the sky and picked out what shapes the clouds are? There is a moment where your creativity is soaring. Simple times like those can bring about the craziest of ideas. I also believe that no matter how "crazy" an idea is; it is always possible. The people who dare to dream are what make up our worlds inventions. If they didn't our world would be much different. There would be no internet, computer, telephone, electricity, etc. What would it be like if there was no creativity? Would we ever exist? There is so much to be thought of, discovered, and designed in the future. So, I'll dare to dream and continue to make our world what it is today. Will you?

HUGH HAYDEN

He is a 26 year old architect, artist, and designer from Texas, now based in New York City. I recently stumbled upon him while research innovative products/furniture. He designs furniture with unique objects like tennis balls or the balls that come from a jungle gyms ball pit.

ARTIST:
FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT

He was an American architect, interior designer, furniture designer, and a writer/educator. He designed more than 1000 projects and had 500 completed. Fallingwater is one of my favorite homes that I have ever visited. Located in Pennsylvania outside of Pittsburgh, Fallingwater was built in 1935. One of the most innovative aspects is how he incorporated nature into designing his home. The home was built partly over a waterfall on Bear Run. In 1966, Fallingwater was designated a National Historic Landmark.

ARTIST:
PETER LOH

He is a furniture designer who creates unique wood pieces. This particular one is a wall sculpture based on a section of the old city- Timbuktu, Mali. The panels of western walnut with koa accents represents the buildings of the city.
